Joshua Irwandi is a documentary photographer and National Geographic Explorer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Irwandi holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Exeter, and pursued graduate studies in photojournalism and documentary photography at the London College of Communication. While working in West Papua, Indonesia, Irwandi was embedded amongst museum staff at the Asmat Museum and focused on a long-term project on the Asmat people. His project ‘Not A Blank Canvas’ was awarded the National Geographic Society storytelling grant in 2021.

Irwandi’s work is part of the Forhanna Foundation Fund for Young Talent and National Geographic Society’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Journalists grants. He was exhibited at Breda Photo Festival in the Netherlands. One of his images, ‘The Human Cost of COVID-19’, sparked controversy in Indonesia when it went viral after publication by National Geographic. In 2021, he was selected as one of the speakers for the National Geographic Society’s Storytellers Summit. He was recently awarded the 2021 World Press Photo Award in General News, the Grand Prize winner for the Lucie Foundation, and was selected as a finalist of The Pulitzer Prize in Breaking News Photography.

Irwandi’s work has been featured in National Geographic, NHK, The Times of London, The Globe and Mail, CNN, TIME and The Guardian.

Mike Davis is the Director of the Alexia Foundation for Photography. He has twice been recognized as the “Newspaper Picture Editor of the Year”, and was the photography editor for multiple stories at National Geographic magazine. Davis has had previous experience judging photography competitions, ranging from regional, national, to international events. In addition, he has judged three “Pictures of the Year International” (POYi) contests. Moreover, Davis has delivered speeches at various universities and photography conferences. He obtained his Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Farzana Wahidy is an award-winning, Afghani documentary photographer and photojournalist, best known for her photographs of women and girls in Afghanistan. She was the first female Afghani photographer to collaborate with international media agencies including the Associated Press (AP) and Agence France-Presse (AFP). Previously, Wahidy studied at the prestigious AINA Photojournalism Institute, of Kabul. In 2002, Wahidy was one of fifteen students selected from more than five hundred applicants.

Guo Jing, photographer and curator, is chief art director of Shangtuf Image and Art Club. She is a board member of the Global Photographic Union (GPU), Chapter President of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Shangtuf Chapter, as well as a representative for the Photographic Society of New York (PSNY) in Zhejiang. Since 2012, she has been invited to the jury of Trierenberg Super Circuit in Austria and other international competitions in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. She was invited by Photolucieda to be a part of their Portfolio Review program. Besides, she has curated photo exhibitions for photo festivals in China: Chief Curator of the international section for Yixian Photography Festival from 2013 to 2017; Chief Curator of the Qinghai Sanjingyuan International Festival in 2014; Curated show for Photo Beijing 2014 and won Pegasus awards, top honor for curators in China; Chief Curator for “Camel Bell on Silk Road” 1st China Naiman International Photography Festival.

Neo Ntsoma is an award winning South African photographer, educator and consultant whose photos have appeared in major international newspapers, magazines and books as well as exhibitions worldwide. In 2004, Ntsoma became the first female recipient of the Mohamed Amin Award, the CNN African Journalist of the Year Photography Prize. With the understanding of the importance of mentorship, she lectures frequently, both within and outside of South Africa. She has served as a judge on numerous photographic competitions, ranging from regional, national, to international contests.

Furthermore, Ntsoma co-authored the book, Women by Women, which is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1956 Women’s March. The largest demonstrations staged in South African history, 20 000 women of all races marched against legislation aimed at tightening the apartheid government's control over the movement of black women in urban areas.

In 2006, she was named one of the ‘100 Most Influential Women’ alongside in a list published by Media24, Africa’s largest media group.

Osama Silwadi is a Palestinian ‏Photojournalist, Visual Storyteller and Folklorist began his career in 1991 who documents the ongoing conflict. At the age of nineteen, Silwadi worked as a freelance Photojournalist for various local newspapers and later worked for Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Reuters. Moreover, he was a permanent correspondent in Palestine for the GAMMA photography agency. Silwadi believes in using photography as a vehicle in which to archive Palestinian visual history. Furthermore, he priorities the photography’s broader importance by documenting significant events. Osama Published 11 Photo Books documenting Parts of Palestinian Heritage.

Sylvie Brieu is a journalist, an author and an educator who graduated from the Sorbonne and UC Berkeley. Brieu is a founding member of National Geographic France and a former Board member of National Geographic Society’s “All Roads Film Project”. This program provided a platform for underrepresented, minority-culture storytellers from around the world. Brieu has written numerous articles, which predominantly address cultural diversity and women issues. Her books mainly focus on Indigenous peoples who are working creatively for social change and environmental justice. In addition, she lectures and offers workshops to schools, universities, UNESCO, National Geographic Society and the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society.
