Her long-term project <em>Living Lullabies</em> highlights the role of lullabies in creating safe spaces for children and caregivers in difficult environments, blending photography, audio, animation, and performance.</p> <p>Her work has appeared in <em>The New York Times</em>, <em>National Geographic Magazine</em>, and <em>The Washington Post</em>. She is the recipient of the Tim Hetherington Visionary Award, the ICP Infinity Award for Documentary Practice, and was named a cultural leader by the World Economic Forum ASEAN.</p> <p>In 2021, she was commissioned as the Nobel Peace Prize photographer, and more recently received a World Press Photo Award, a Pictures of the Year International Award, and a 2024 Pulitzer Prize nomination. Self-taught, she began photography at 14 and became one of Kenya’s few female advertising photographers.</p> <p>Her acclaimed <em>Camo</em> series reflects her experience challenging gender expectations, blending optic art with influences from Malick Sidibé.
