Claire Thomas is an award-winning Welsh photojournalist and fine art photographer based between the UK and Egypt, whose work explores culture, identity, and human stories shaped by conflict, displacement, and environmental change. She has reported extensively across the Middle East, including from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Jordan, and Lebanon, with her work featured in major international outlets such as National Geographic, The New York Times, and the BBC. A recipient of the 2025 Pulitzer Center Reporting Grant and the 2023 Amnesty International Media Award for Outstanding Impact, she is also the author of ALTAI: Hunters and Herders of Mongolia (2026), a long-term project documenting Kazakh eagle hunters and herding communities in western Mongolia.
